About
Kathy Henrich has served on over nine boards from start-ups to industry leading companies. She is invaluable in advising on Artificial Intelligence, cyber security, technology, governance, nominating and investment committees. Furthermore, she has led board initiatives to write by laws, and recruit board members from her vast network. Throughout her career, she has been a technology leader and achieved substantial growth for start-ups to $1B businesses in numerous industries. She is a frequent speaker to industry groups and legislative advisor on Artificial Intelligence to the Wisconsin State Legislature. Recently, she advised a private ~$125M insurance brokerage on AI policy and strategy as well as a cyber security framework.
Currently, Kathy is beginning her second term on the M3 Insurance company board as the Chair of Cash & Investment Committee, a member of Audit & Governance Committee, and advises on AI and cyber security. Kathy also serves as an Advisory Board member at Nassco, with a focus on their technology roadmap. In 2024, Kathy was one of eight non-governmental people on the Legislative Council Study Committee on the Regulation of Artificial Intelligence for the state of Wisconsin. As a Director at Technology Councils of North America (TECNA) since 2022, she served on the Strategic Planning Committee. She is also currently a Director at the Wisconsin Startup Coalition and the United Way’s Tech United Board. She previously served as a Director for the Wisconsin Policy Forum and Volunteer Center of Washington County. At Advancing AI Wisconsin, she was a Co-Leader and board member of Talent Pipeline.
Starting her career in technical sales roles, she quickly advanced to the executive level running businesses at IBM from $500B to $1B in revenues. Her long career at IBM included being the company’s leader for a start-up coalition with Johnson Controls, which grew to $50M in revenue. She also ran sales organizations and advised on large scale deals for a $600M business and $1B businesses. She also led a $500M business with 125 team members. For a year, she built future operational models and talent strategies for manufacturing business while she was at Accenture. As the CEO of a not-for-profit start-up, she has led that organization to inclusively grow the tech-powered economy, growing regional tech talent at twice the market rate, increasing new industry investment in the region by $4B, procuring $55M of federal investment in the region, attracting $210M of new venture capital and $12M additional investments in skilling programs.
A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s in marketing, she moved on to Louisiana State University to obtain a Master in Workforce and Talent Management. She had extensive training at IBM in Design Thinking, Impact Coaching, IBM Executive Education, and technical topics including AI, Blockchain, and Cloud technology. She also has a Continuing Certificate Education from Northwestern University in Data Driven Consulting. In 2023 and 2024, Kathy was named a Wisconsin Titan. Also in 2023, Biz Times Media named her a Notable Women in STEM. The previous year the Milwaukee Business Journal awarded her organization the Fire Award.
